American Council of the Blind
The nation's leading
membership organization of blind and visually impaired people. Founded in
1961 and incorporated in the District of Columbia. The Council strives to
improve the well-being of all blind and visually impaired people by: serving
as a representative national organization of blind people. Monthly magazine,
Braille Forum is a free monthly national magazine with a readership of
approximately 26,000. It is produced in Braille, large print, cassette, and
IBM-compatible computer disc and contains articles on employment,
legislation, sports and leisure activities, new products and services, human
interest and other information of interest to blind and visually impaired

"An Illustrated Guide to
Cane Repair and More"

Knowing that "standard" cane configurations are not always successful with
clients who have additional cognitive or physical involvements, this book
was developed after many years of working with clients who having additional
cognitive or physical involvements in mind. This guide is an attempt to help
other O&Mers expand their "horizons" as they face a more and more diverse
population with broader ranges of problems and abilities. The 43 page manual
contains 165 color digital pictures along with step-by-step instructions
that helps to simplify repair and modification procedures. It is highly
recommended by many O&M specialist. The guide cost $24.00 plus $6.00 S/H in

BVI-Parents Mailing List
