1. Help for the Partially Sighted!

Most of us are not aware of the "degrees" of vision loss and partially sighted individuals are often accused of "faking blindness". This little "sign" helps the public to know why assistance is needed.

Tag that says: "I'm not blind, I'm partially sighted", includes drawing of an eye.

2. Help for their instructors!

The public is often concerned about a person with a cane being followed by someone with a clipboard. Many of us have actually been stopped by the police. This instructor has experienced the rath of many strangers who flash angry looks, or actually get mad at me for not "helping the blind person". It is not possible to explain to each person that this is a lesson and the person is learning to cross the street for themselves. This tag has worked well in explaining what I'm doing to the public and actually inviting interaction.

Tag that says: "Instructor: As me about Orientation and Mobility Training."

3. Help for blindfold

Training someone under the blindfold in the community can be most puzzling to the public. The most common response seems to be great sympathy because the person just had eye surgery. I dislike the sympathy and invite public interaction with my blindfold participants with this little tag.

Tag that says: "STUDENT in training."

Tags are plastic and about the shape and hardness of a credit card. They come with a collar clip and stainless steel chain. Cost is $5.50, including shipping and handling. Send to:
